It is our philosophy that there are three elements to providing patients with the very best in medical care: technology, environment, and personnel.
The Retina Institute of Florida employs state-of-the-art techniques and equipment for the identification, evaluation, and therapy of retinal disorders. Fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green angiography, fundus photography, ultrasonography, computerized visual field testing, retinal cryotherapy, computerized ophthalmic diagnostic imaging (OCT), diode lasers and argon-krypton-dye lasers are among the array of devices available on our premises for examination. All of our fundus cameras are equipped with digital processing, which provides the instant display of diagnostic photographs for viewing by the physician and the patient. New technologies are constantly monitored and evaluated for their significance and effectiveness in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal disorders.
We feel that the environment of a physician’s office is critical in creating a sense of confidence and well-being in the patient, even before seeing the doctor. To that end, we have sought to avoid any “institutional” look or “assembly line” feel in our facilities. Instead, we pride ourselves in creating a warm, comfortable environment, both inside and outside the examining room.
Our support staff includes technicians licensed and certified in medical and ophthalmic practice, a paramedic, and several retinal angiographers. All of these individuals have years of experience in ophthalmic subspecialty of retina and vitreous and aid in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of your eye condition in a courteous and professional manner.
Our patient liaison staff will welcome you and assist you with office procedures and policy. Our business staff will help you with any matters related to Medicare, insurance, or any other financial concerns. Some new patients will receive a telephone call a day or two after their initial visit to solicit their impressions, input, and suggestions. All members of the staff at The Retina Institute of Florida are primarily and foremost concerned with your health and comfort and will do everything possible to assist you, both medically and personally.
